The main streets that run through this neighborhood are 9th street and 13th street in the NS direct and Tazewell, Jamison, and Bullitt running in the EW direction. These streets act as the spine for the neighborhood with the most traffic passing through Jamison And Bullitt leading to Vinton on the East. 

 

Time and again multiple residents have expressed the need to improve street lights at the main spine road networks of 9th street, 13th street , Bullitt and Jamison. Some of these existing images outline the areas concentrated. The intersection of Bullitt and 9th street lacks a visible crosswalk for pedestrians crossing down these traffic prone intersections.

Pedestrian lighting especially during the winters is essential for pedestrians to have a pleasant experience through Belmont Fallon even after dawn. This sketch is a proposal for the street improvements with a bus stop shelter, a pedestrian sidewalk, a bike lane, a well defined raised crosswalk at key areas where the vulnerable population mostly uses them and the different alternating street lighting options. Street lights in the downtown area has been an excellent addition to downtown making it highly popular among bikers and pedestrians at all times of the day. This image on the right shows the different intensities of street lights. Addition of a decorative street light to the existing cobra street lights illuminates the space more for pedestrians.
